Our Methodology
How we approach a project
Every project at Somn Studio begins with a conversation, not a contract. We believe that good design comes from understanding — and understanding takes time. Our methodology is client-led: we draw out your preferences through dialogue, document our observations in writing, and build the design around what we learn.
Understand
We learn how you inhabit your space — your habits, preferences, and what is not working for you now.
Design
We translate what we have learned into a spatial narrative — layouts, materials, lighting, and atmosphere — with full explanation.
Deliver
We manage the execution phase so the finished space matches what was designed — and walk through it with you at the end.
Service 01
Introductory Design Dialogue
A conversation-led session that explores your relationship with your space — how you use it, what you value, and what you would change. Includes a written reflection with design observations, reference imagery, and initial thoughts on layout. Suitable for homes and small offices. Delivered within one week.

Design Narrative & Documentation
A full design service that translates your brief into a richly detailed design narrative — spatial layouts, material stories, furniture selections, lighting atmospheres, and immersive 3D views. Each element is presented with its reasoning and context. Includes two revision phases and a contractor-ready specification package. For residential and commercial projects. Delivered in 6–10 weeks.

Service 03
Execution & Finishing Support
Hands-on guidance through renovation and furnishing — managing procurement, coordinating with trades, conducting site reviews, and styling the completed space. Regular communication keeps you informed without burdening you with logistics. Concludes with a walk-through to ensure every detail is in place. Duration typically 8–14 weeks.
